CRAZY HORSE PARIS MEDIA CONFERENCE
OPENING REMARKS BY MS GOH MIN YEN

Good afternoon everyone. I’m Min Yen, the managing director of Eng Wah Organization.

What you have just seen provides a taste of Crazy Horse Paris, the exciting new cabaret we will be opening on Clarke Quay in December this year. If any of you have seen it in Paris, or its sister show in Las Vegas, I am sure you will need no convincing that it will add a unique, vibrant and enthralling entertainment option to Singapore’s night-life.

To those of you who haven’t seen it, Crazy Horse Paris has been a fixture of the Paris nightlife for more than 50 years and is one of the world’s top cabarets. Nothing in Singapore can compare with it. In fact, it will be a first for the whole of Asia.

We are upbeat about the prospects of the show. Crazy Horse Paris is a major international brand, up there as a top tourist attraction along with the Moulin Rouge and Paris Lido, but with a more artistic and modern edge. Shows of this calibre have such a powerful attraction that visitors often extend their stay in a city to see them. We hope Crazy Horse Paris will give visitors to Singapore a further reason to stay one extra night, which will be good news not only for Eng Wah, but for Singapore’s tourism industry as a whole.

Eng Wah Organization has been entertaining Singapore for many years, and we are always looking to diversify and expand our business. When we saw the visually stunning Crazy Horse cabaret in Paris, we knew immediately it would be ideal to complement Singapore’s existing night life. It was obvious to us why Crazy Horse Paris has earned so much international acclaim. It is a beautiful artistic show, with incredible lighting, music and choreography, a truly amazing experience enjoyed by men and women alike. In fact, there were as many women as men in the audience on the nights I visited.

In Singapore, Crazy Horse Paris will be based in the heart of Clarke Quay, which is being marketed as a 24-hour entertainment precinct. In addition to the 400-seat theatre, we shall include a bar and chic bistro where guests can enjoy dinner before or after the show.

Eng Wah will develop and manage the venue and market the cabaret, while creative control will remain with the Paris-based management team. They will recruit and train the dancers, continue to write the music, choreograph the shows and design the lighting and costumes.

In this way, the cabaret will remain true to its Parisian artistic roots. It will cater to a discerning clientele who want premium entertainment and a sophisticated night out.

I am delighted that Didier Bernardin of the Paris management team has been able to join us today for this official signing ceremony.

Didier is the son of Alain Bernardin, the founder of Crazy Horse Paris and our families have a lot in common. Just like Alain, my father - Goh Eng Wah - founded our company some 50 years ago. His vision was to entertain the people of Singapore and that remains our vision today.

Eng Wah and Crazy Horse Paris are brands that have been carefully built over 50 years.

We are confident that this partnership will allow us to make Crazy Horse Paris one of the biggest night life attractions in Asia.

I would now like to invite Didier to talk a little more about Crazy Horse Paris.
